What Borderfolio does

Borderfolio for Advisors turns brokerage statements into one consolidated, priced client portfolio. It reads exports from brokers such as Interactive Brokers, Schwab, DEGIRO, Saxo, Swissquote and Trading 212 directly, sends other PDF, CSV, XLSX or image statements through an AI extraction model, and shows every import for review before it is confirmed. It reports allocation, performance, currency exposure and fund domicile (read from the ISIN), and screens cross-border issues such as US-situs holdings against the non-resident estate-tax threshold and US dividend withholding at the client's treaty rate, with each figure's source and assumptions stated. Advisers generate firm-branded PDF portfolio reviews from frozen snapshots, model a planned relocation, and produce annual costs-and-charges statements. Borderfolio says it is not a CRM, custody, trading or financial-planning system and generates no recommendations; workspaces are isolated by firm, support required two-factor sign-in and keep an audit trail, and original statements are purged after seven days.

Key capabilities, per Borderfolio

  • Reads exports from brokers such as Interactive Brokers, Schwab, DEGIRO and Saxo directly; other statements go through AI extraction and adviser review before anything is confirmed
  • Allocation, performance, currency and fund-domicile exposure, plus US-situs, dividend-withholding and relocation screens with sources and assumptions stated
  • Firm-branded PDF portfolio reviews from frozen snapshots, with adviser commentary kept separate from the engine's analysis

Good fit if

You want independent advisers and boutique firms whose clients hold accounts across brokers, currencies and fund domiciles.

Skip it if

Your clients are US residents holding accounts at one or two US custodians that your portfolio reporting tool already aggregates.

What to check before you buy

  • Built for clients outside the US: US-person taxation is reported as not modelled, so check fit if most of your clients are US residents.
  • Confirm your clients' brokers are on the direct-import list or test the extraction review on a real statement.
  • It sits beside your CRM, custodian and planning software rather than replacing them.
  • Have your compliance team review data handling and recordkeeping before any client data goes in.
